The season just began and we already see season ending injuries. Perhaps no team has been hit harder than UConn, who during 2022 was at one point down to 7 active players. 2023-2024 was supposed to be the season with healthy stars - Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd took the court until on November 22nd when UConn announced that Fudd would miss the remainder of the season with ACL and medial meniscal tears in her right knee. In 2022 she missed the majority of the season with a right knee injury and in 2021 she played 10 games before going out with a foot injury. A healthy UConn had the chance to be elite, and it is heartbreaking to watch players suffer from injuries that impact their careers.
